How Kalakrit Localised Physics Wallah's Lectures and Sparked a Revolution in Multilingual E-learning

What started as a high-stakes project with Physics Wallah has now become one of our proudest offerings — a product built out of sweat, voice notes, AI, and a deep belief in access to quality education for every student, no matter the language they speak. Let’s rewind a bit.

🔁 The Challenge That Changed Everything

When Physics Wallah came to Kalakrit, the challenge was clear and daunting: "We want our students across India to understand every word our trainers speak — without making them feel like it's dubbed."

This meant:

  • Dubbing hundreds of hours of science and math lectures
  • Across 7+ Indian languages
  • Delivered within daily turnaround cycles

And most importantly — keeping the trainer's energy, emotion, and personal quirks intact

In simpler words: the dubbed version had to feel as real and authentic as the original. We didn’t just build a dubbing solution. We engineered a process. especially in regions like Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, it is ‘बटाटा’ (batata).

🛠️ The Kalakrit System: Human Emotion + AI Speed

After weeks of R&D, testing, feedback loops and tea-fueled war rooms, we created a full-proof hybrid dubbing model:

  • Voice Acting by Native Talent: To preserve natural tone and energy
  • AI Voice Cloning: To replicate trainer’s voice and cadence
  • Script Transcreation: Not just translation, but adapting examples, cultural context, and even slang
  • Subtitling & QA: For accessibility and quality assurance
  • Project Management at Scale: Delivering over 15+ hours of content daily, every single day

Colors, symbols, and imagery have different meanings depending on where you are. What’s a cute icon in one country could be a full-on offense in another. Cultural sensitivity is absolutely necessary in app translation. The colour red might scream power in China but signal danger in Western cultures.

We even set up a review system where each dubbed lecture was tested against three metrics:

  • Clarity
  • Authenticity
  • Emotional retention

If it didn’t feel like the original — it went back<.

💬 And Then Came the Comments…

YouTube became our validation board. We didn’t expect much, but the students noticed.

Over 85% of students in our post-dubbing surveys said they didn’t realize the videos were dubbed at all.

More than 70% reported increased retention and understanding because the trainer “felt familiar” in their native tongue.

That’s when we knew…

We weren’t just building a service.

We had built a solution. A replicable, scalable product.

🚀 The Birth of Our Flagship Offering

We took everything we learned, every process we optimised, and created a product now available to every e-learning company that wants to go multilingual — the right way.

🎙️ Quote from Our Founder, Sehaj Kohli:

“We realised dubbing isn't about replacing a voice, it’s about retaining trust in another language. Students don’t just hear trainers — they follow them, connect with them, and believe in them. And we made sure nothing got lost in translation.”

🎯 The Future Is Native

India’s e-learning future is multilingual, no question about it. And we’re not just keeping up — we’re setting the pace. If you're an ed-tech company wondering how to localise your content without sounding robotic or losing your brand's essence — you know where to find us. Kalakrit isn’t just dubbing voices. We’re making every student feel heard.
